  • Condition: Tested functional. Bracket has paint scratched off top center; meter lens has burn mark/grove in upper left-hand corner, does not break the integrity of the lens. Slight corrosion on negative C cell battery spring coil. Very small dent on case, upper left-hand corner. Case has some scratches and scuff marks.

    Description:
    Performed visual inspection - very good construction technique; very clean inside; corrosion on negative battery spring coil; a
    ppears an electrolytic capacitor was changed; read the Condition Description.
    Initial application of mains power via a variac. Started at 10V, ~30 second dwell, increment by 10V and dwell, continued until 120V reached. All further testing performed via mains power outlet
    Performed AC, DC, and Ohms Calibration per Heathkit Manual (pages 23-24). AC Balance (page 24) required a very steady hand in adjusting, couldn't quite get all settings (AC, DC-, DC+) not to move, managed AC & DC- with minor deflection on DC+
    Verified AC and DC voltage readings
    Ohms measurement - open indicated infinity and closed indicated at or near zero Ohms (I could not obtain exactly zero on all ranges); measuring of resistors on different scales indicated values close to those measured by a digital VOM
    No further testing or examination was performed
