Description
c.1890 Matched Pair of BooksFATHER TUCK'S "DOLL" SERIES
No. 1466 - In English & French
[
FEATURES AND DETAILS...
]
The one in English is titled
My Lady Dolly
, and clearly labeled as "Father Tuck's 'Doll' Series No. 1466," published by Raphael Tuck & Sons Co., Ltd., "Designed at the studios in England."
The French one is the
exact
same book, titled
Madame Poupée
, and labeled as from "Ernest Flammarion - éditeur à Paris." It is obviously the same book -- same cover art, same lovely color plates inside -- all but the text, which is the French translation. It says nothing about Raphael Tuck.
Neither book is dated, but this series is from the 1890s.
- Dimensions (approx.): 8" wide x 14.5" tall
[
CONDITION...
]
- Minor
age issues as shown -- mostly on the covers: especially age fragility, a bit of loss, and some repairs in clear tape (older and newer).
- Otherwise in fabulous condition for their age. The color plates are bright, and no pages are missing.
- From a non-smoking environment, of course.
The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. (Don't we all!?) It would be impossible to mention every tiny detail, so please expect that
there will be something
about this item (or lot) that's not perfect and may need touch-up.
PLEASE SUPERSIZE ALL PHOTOS, AND ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING. I'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER.
