Description
For your consideration:An EXTREMELY RARE Example of a 1898, ROUND, QUEEN-WIRT VOLTMETER made by Queen & Co. of Philadelphia!
The QUEEN-WIRT VOLTMETERS set the standard in the early 1900's as being the best made. They were the most accurate, most durable and able to withstand the most harsh conditions and still work. They required no setup and simply worked as they should out of the crate.
Most known for being used by the US NAVY and the Telephone Switchboards the QUEEN-WIRT VOLTMETERS set the standard in the industry.
As these instruments were well used, very few have survived till today. This NEEDLE IN THE HAYSTACK, Round, QUEEN-WIRT VOLTMETER survivor is mounted on a solid oak base and is a great example of the quality instruments that the USA made back in the early 1900's. At a time when Japan and Germany were known for their electrical instruments Russia went with the QUEEN WIRT VOLTMETERS for their railways.
This VOLTMETER measures approximately 8.5 inches across its' face.
Very few of these still exist and even fewer are put up for sale. You will be hard pressed to see another one unless it is in a museum.
