    Description

    African tribal Axe attributed to the Tonga Tribe and brought from Zambia.  Previous owners tag identifies this as a Dance Axe, apparently for religious or ceremonial purpose.  Others examples of Dance Axes on internet have many similarities.  Unknown age, but is primitive and has great patina to iron blade and wood.  Approximately 20" in length.  This item is one of many African tribal items we are listing for a young lady in her 90's we have helped move to assisted living.  Her and her husband lived in Zambia in the 1960's and collected ethnic weaponry, tools, masks and religious items from  Africa while there.  Keep an eye on our listings for more items coming soon.  Thanks for looking!
