    Description

Antique African tribal Battle Axe attributed to the Congo region and brought from Zambia.  Similar examples attributed to numerous tribes of the area including the Kuba, Tonga and Songye.  Approximately 14 1/2" in length with 9" early iron blade.  Estimated time frame of manufacture is 1860 to 1915.  Very good condition showing use and age patina as pictured.  Blade is firmly attached.  This item is one of many African tribal items we are listing for a 93 years young lady we have helped move to assisted living.  Her and her husband lived in Zambia in the 1960's and collected ethnic weaponry, tools, masks and religious items from  Africa while there.  Keep an eye on our listings for more items coming soon.  Thanks for looking!
