Presented for your consideration is this antique doll. The doll has a bisque shoulder head with bisque hands and jointed leather body. It has very detailed facial features which included large, bright blue sleep eyes, parted lips to show four teeth and rosy cheeks. The head is completed with a honey brown wig. The back of the head is marked with "Be Nippon." Unsure as to what company this hallmark stands for but it does identify the doll as being made in Japan. The body is jointed at the legs, knees and elbows. The doll is completed with an outfit consisting of a 2 lace trim slips, white undershirt, white bloomers, brown socks, white faux leather boots and a red dress with embroidered trim around the neckline and sleeves. This great looking doll would make a nice addition to any antique doll collection!
One of the legs is loose at the knee and one of the hands has two fingers broken off. Head is free of chips and cracks. The red dress has four small holes in the front and light fading in the chest area. One of the slips has become brittle with age and is torn in several spots. Light wear from age and play. Overall the doll is in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the best details.
Measures 18" tall, 5 1/2" wide at the shoulders and 3 1/4" from the tip of the nose to the back of the head.
